Random 42
This live university brief was set by my university in tandem with medical visualisation company Random 42. The brief was to create a medical visualisation of the Hepatitis B virus entering and infecting a liver cell.
All procedural modelling, animation and effects were done in Houdini. Houdini Solaris was used for lighting, shading and rendered using Houdini’s Karma renderer using the USD pipeline. Compositing was done in Nuke. (The requirement was to create an artistic interpretation and didn’t have to be scientifically accurate.)
